Sun rises near a rain bow-
One bird cannot leave

I used photoshop.

I painted the main layer black, and then selected a very light purple as the alternate color, and then erased. I wanted to do something that looked like the scratching things people do in grade school.

I wanted to do something without much color, something childish, but haunting.

There's the sun, a house, a car, trees, birds, but the focus is on the sadness of one dead bird while life continues to go on.

I've acted WAY to existential/nihilistic of late. ;D

that's actually the first impression that i got, someone writing or scratching on a chalkboard

I'll try to do something like that again another time, but with a separate level so I can put a rainbow underneath and make it even more like scratch pictures.

It's neat. I've seen stuff like this before but I think this is more well done

Wow...this was really a beautiful piece of artwork.

The scratchy lines make it feel nervous and chaotic, and it makes me think of shock. To me the person depicted is saying "How cna this make sense, how is the world continuing?" It's that feeling of disbelief that really sets the theme of the artwork.

I also liked the little details like the handle on the car door, that was a very nice touch, and the color scheme was very well decided - the black and contrasting light purple again give a contradictory feel to the piece.

I loved this, it was incredible, and I could find no flaw except that it was just slightly crowded because there was no defining contrast between the light purple lines, but that's the only criticism I have.
